Wandering Around The Family Tree

One of the photos in my great grandfather's collection of photographs from Keystone Academy in 1890-1891 is identified on the back as Prof. I.F. Bodel A quick check of the 22nd Annual of Keystone Academy and Ladies, Institute  Factoryville PA  1890-91 indicates that Issac F Bodle was a member of the Board of Instruction. A few minutes research on the web and Ancestry reveals basic information about Professor Bodle. 1859   Born in Eaton, Wyoming, PA on March 8. In 1891, my great grandfather William Lucas Hankins attended Keystone Academy in Factoryville, Pennsylvania. I have several photographs of his classmates that I'll be posting. William Lucas Hankins was the son of Lucas Wurtz Hankins and Mary Ellen Ross. He married Mary Jane Kellam. He was the father of Francis William Hankins. This photograph of William Lucas Hankins was taken by the photographer Manchester in Factoryville, Pennsyvlania. This may be Walter N. Manchester who was active in Factoryville in the 1880s. The Hankins family was a challenge to find in the 1940 census. I knew where they were supposed to be – just could not find them in the indexes. I finally search for an Evelyn b in Kansas with a last name starting with H living in Collegeville. Then I found them – indexed as the Harbisa family on Ancestry! I’ve notified Ancestry of the error – so now they do show up under Hankins! On Family Search - they are indexed as the Harkins family.  The family starts on line 58 on Sheet 1B Enumeration District 46-42.
