1.
Uriah Sornberger, son of John Sornberger and
Deborah Rau, was born about 1788 in New York and died 17 September 1850, most
likely in Hillsdale, Columbia County, New York. He married Betsy Cole before 1813. She was born about 1789 in
Connecticut and died 10 January 1858 in Hillsdale.
Uriah and
Betsy had four children, all likely born in Egremont, Berkshire County,
Massachusetts.

born about 1813, died 11 January 1842 probably in Hillsdale.

born 28 April 1816, died 29 October 1859.
4. iii. George,
born about 1818, died 1885 probably in Hillsdale. He married Harriet Newell Osborn, daughter of Melvin Osborn
and Betsey Pierce, 19 October 1852 in Washtenaw County, Michigan. She was born
in February 1823 in Columbia County, New York, and died 19 September 1871,
probably in Hillsdale.
5. iv. Emmeline,
born 29 November 1820, and died 19 September 1890, probably in Hillsdale. She
married William Leonard Johnson, son of Quincey Johnson and Abigail Cook, on 12
September 1852. He was born 5 September 1815 in New York, and died 10 October
1891 in Pine Plains, Dutchess County, New York.
Generation Two
3. Eliza Sornberger,
daughter of Uriah Sornberger and Betsy Cole, was born 28 April 1816 in
Egremont, Berkshire County, Massachusetts. She died 29 October 1859 at Great
Barrington, Berkshire County. She married Levi Pierce,
probable son of Joel Pierce and Peggy, on 15 June 1841 in Hillsdale, Columbia
County, New York. He was born about 1815 and died 22 April 1844 in Palmyra,
Wayne County, New York. Eliza then married John
Farnham Sanford, son of John Sanford and Aurora Farnham, on 9 May 1854 in Hillsdale. He was born 16 June
1809 in West Stockbridge, Berkshire County, and died 6 December 1884 in Great
Barrington.

Barrington, Berkshire County, Massachusetts. She married Merritt Seeley, son of Isaac Seeley and Electa
Palmer, on 8 May 1862 at Great Barrington. He was born 6 December 1839 in Great
Barrington, and died 8 April 1886 at Greenfield, Franklin County,
Massachusetts.
Elizabeth and Merritt had six children:

9. Isaac Seeley, son of
Elizabeth Pierce and Merritt Seeley, born 1 September 1865 at New Haven, New
Haven, Connecticut, and died 16 September 1905 at Great Barrington, Berkshire
County, Massachusetts. He married Sophie Curtis
Vanschiak, daughter of H.C Vanschaack and Frank on 7 October 1886 in
Great Barrington. They were divorced on 6 January 1894 in El Paso County,
Colorado. Sophie was born 14 February 1869 in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois,
and died 7 May 1922 in Saint Joseph, Buchanan County, Missouri.
Isaac and
Sophie had one child.
14. i. George Slingerland,
born 12 October 1887 in New York, New York, and died 24 November 1953 in San
Francisco, San Francisco, California. Beginning in 1900, George used his mother’s second husband’s last name of
Gilpin. He married first Mabel B. Chamberlain,
daughter of William Chamberlain and Amy Dorst, on 1 August 1913 in Jackson,
Kansas City, Missouri. She was born 17 August 1891 in Chicago, Cook County,
Illinois and died 1 September 1943 in Lakewood, Cuyahoga County, Ohio. George
married second Hazel D. Seaman on 16 April
1953 in Contra Costa County, California. She was born 18 February 1890 in
California and died 27 February 1969 in Contra Costa. George had two sons from
his first marriage, Vincent
Seeley, and William Chamberlain.
10. Eliza Seeley, daughter of Elizabeth Pierce and
Merritt Seeley, born 2 May 1867 in Great Barrington, Berkshire County,
Massachusetts, died 27 July 1927 in New Haven, New Haven, Connecticut. She
married Frederick James Hatch, son of Austin
E. Hatch and Eliza A. Moree, on 23 August 1894 in Manhattan, New York. He was
born in February 1866 in Great Barrington, and died 30 August 1925 in New
Milford, Litchfield, Connecticut.
Eliza and
Frederick had three children:

born 22 October 1895 in Great Barrington, died 30 September 1929 in Manhattan,
New York. He married Mary Frances Dorothy Havens,
daughter of Edward F. Havens and Mary A., on 19 June 1918 in Hartford, Hartford

October 1971 in West Hartford. They had two daughters, Barbara Elizabeth,
and Marian
Frances.
