Memories of the Coes 30 - Home at Judge Haskell Place, Home at the Graves Place, and new Permanent Home
The house on East Avenue had no wall under it, or cellar and the next fall we moved to the Mrs Judge Hiram Haskell house on East Main, next to the Olmstead home, both standing in 1936. There was a large library there and I had a good time browsing among the books. The next spring we moved a mile west of Le Roy to the Graves place, a small farm now owned by Frank Service. There was an orchard with lovely apples west of the house. I was twelve that fall, still a little girl, - always rather large for my age. Our folks had a good deal of company, - Dr Wentworth's family - Lilly, Clara, Stephanie, Dick and John, and among the young folks, E.F. and Mary went with and entertained were Geo. and Mary Sperry, P.T. Lynn and sisters Fannie and Jennie, Will Stowell. That year, while living west of Le Roy, the twins and I went to the Stone school house on the northeast corner about two miles west of Le Roy. A few years ago a wooden school house was built there. I think it was a happy year we spent there. There were nice trees, a flower garden, the lovely orchard, and the family was becoming quite at home in the Le Roy Methodist church and Sunday school.
While there, Father was looking for a farm, and finally bought one two and a fourth miles east of Le Roy where we three spent our girlhood years, the years of schooling, teaching, courtship, and marriage. All four of us sisters were married in the large parlor which extends the west side of the main part of the house. Many and many a party and Literary meeting, 'old folks' party; church social and family gathering has that big room known during the Coe occupancy. This was "home" as long as father and mother lived.

Patty's notes on this entry
I think we finally have an answer to why the dates on the deeds didn't seem to line up with Elizabeth's stories about when the family moved to Le Roy. Based on this - my guess - the chronology is
1873 - Albert and Deborah Coe sell the farm in Pavilion on April 1 and the family moves into the Haskell House.
Spring 1874 - family moves to Graves place
Jan 1, 1875 - Albert purchases land east of Le Roy and the family moves there in early 1875.
Mrs Judge Hiram Haskell - Hiram Hascall (1812-1898) was a local lawyer, postmaster and Genesee County Clerk. He first married Harriet Hinsdale (1818-1861) and second married Amanda Boyer (1815-1907) in 1862, so the Mrs Judge Hiram Hascall would have been his second wife. In 1880, the Hascall's lived on Union Street in LeRoy.
Olmstead - John Randolph Olmstead (1819-1909) was married to Elizabeth Martha Allen (1825-1910). In 1880, the Olmstead family was listed directly after the Hascall family in the census living on Union Street.
Graves - possibly a home owned by Sarah Weld James (1838-1927) widow of Adam Clark Graves (1833-1864). The widow and her son Edward (1858-1942) were living with her parents Uriah James (1805-1883) and Sarah Weld (1812-1885) in 1870 and 1880 on Myrtle Street, which is east of Le Roy.
Frank Service - Frank William Service (1874-1942) married Mabel Robinson (1887-1971). They lived on West Main Street in Le Roy from at least 1920 through 1940.
Dr Wentworth - John Brodhead Wentworth (1823-1893) was a minister and elder in the Methodist Episcopal Church. He, with his wife Clara Mathes Drew (1824-1890) and children, lived in Le Roy from at least 1875 through 1880.
Lilly - Lillie Wentworth (about 1855-1890), daughter of John B Wentworth and Clara Drew
Clara - Clara Holloway Wentworth (1857 - ????) daughter of John B Wentworth and Clara Drew married Fred M. Allen (1855-????) in 1879.
Stephanie - Stephanie Drew Wentworth (1860-1938) daughter of John B Wentworth and Clara Drew married William Hershel Collins (1861-1953) in 1888.

E.F. - Ezra Frank Coe (1853-1942) son of Albert Coe (1827-1907) and Deborah Prentice (133-1910). He married Sarah Frances Ward (1856-1941) daughter of Charles Kendall Ward (1819-1898) and Laura Caroline Davenport (1822-1876) in 1883.
Mary - Mary Isadore Coe (1851-1924) oldest daughter of Albert Coe (1827-1907) and Deborah Prentice (1833-1910). She married George W Sperry (1853-1933, son of Platt T Sperry and Rebecca) in 1879
Geo Sperry - George W Sperry (1853-1933) son of Platt T Sperry (1814-1889) and Rebecca Storm (1821-1857). He married Mary Isadore Coe
Mary Sperry - Mary W Sperry (1857-1943) daughter of Platt T Sperry and Rebecca Storm. She married Charles Sumner Brierly (1856-1928) in 1883.
P.T. Lynn - Phineas Taylor Lynn (1855-1943) son of Elisha Lynn (1832-1908) and Betsy Ann Crossett (1834-1863). He married Ida Moulton (1859-1900) in 1884 and Lulu Nicholson (1975-1955) in 1902. At various points in his career, Lynn listed his occupation in the census as Minister and Superintendent of an orphanage.
