The fourteenth photo in the album is Charles Arthur Call, son of Charles Joslin Call and Elizabeth Ann Coe.
Charles Arthur Call was born on 8 October 1885 in Stafford, Genesee County, New York, the son of Charles Joslin Call (1859-1939) and Elizabeth Ann Coe (1862-1956). He was known as Arthur or C. Arthur Call.
He married Bertha May Hotchkiss (1882-1946), daughter of Horatio Nelson Hotchkiss (1855-1938) and Carrie Adell VanName (1861-1944) on 28 July 1909 in Gainesville, Wyoming County, New York. Arthur and Bertha had five children: Helen Elizabeth (1910-1997), Mildred (1911-1911), Marian Alberta (1911-2000), Robert Olin (1919-2000) and Edith Adelle (1921-2006).
Arthur and his family lived in a number of places over the years. In 1910, they lived in Schenectady, Schenectady County, New York, where he worked as an electrical engineer. By 1916, they were living in Hartford, Hartford County, Connecticut. In 1919, they lived in Glen Ridge, Essex County, New Jersey. In 1923, they lived in Springfield, Hampden County, Massachusetts. In 1926, they lived in Braberton, Summit County, Ohio. By 1927, they had moved to Syracuse, Ononddaga County, New York where Arthur worked as a salesman for an Engineering firm. By 1934, they were living in Batavia, Genesee County, where Arthur worked as a poultry man. By 1940, they were living in Lewiston, Niagara County, New York, where Arthur worked as an electrician for a power utility.
After Bertha's death in 1946, Arthur married Anna Frances Meyer (1886-1971), daughter of Louis F Meyer (1848-????) and Barbara E Wagner (1863-????) on 5 July 1947. Arthur died on 1 August 1962 at Niagara Falls, Niagara, New York.
This photograph was taken on 4 September 1886. Not only did his mother note the date the photograph was taken on the back, she included that it was taken when he was aged 11 months less 4 days when it was taken.
The photographer, Charles W. Tallman, had a studio on the second floor over 80 and 82 East Main Street in Batavia from 1869 through sometime between 1892 and 1900. Tallman also took the photographs of Robert Call and his wife Charlotte Joslin Call that are in the album.
