September & October 1937 from The Calls 1935-1943
Tues. Sept 7. Schools began to-day. Edith is teaching in Stafford. Louisa began school and is in Edith's room. Herbert is in the 5th grade, in Miss Clara Rudolph's room. Thelma asked Alden and me to go to the Rochester Exposition. Irving went also. We saw what we wanted to in 1 1/2 hours. Then went to the Rochester Museum, which I really enjoyed. Thurs Sept 23. Spoke at our Ladies' Aid on our Western Trip. "I talked about the people we met and read extracts from some letters." Sun. 26. "Irving is trying hard to get the Church finances all made up right." Edith put up lunch, even to church, and took Alden back to Ithaca. He has been working for Geo. Berger. Mon 27. At night Edith and I went to Akron then to Hunt's Corners where "they have been celebrating the Centennial of a church, - Baptist. A Hunt was pastor for 40 years and built the present edifice.
