July 1937 From the Calls 1935-1943



 Sun the 4th. We had dinner at Robert's and "called at Arthur's and saw our great-grandson Jeremey Robert Johnson for the first time. He is fine, very attractive, fair, with dimples, and very good-natured."

Wed 7. Mabelle and Albert Goff came. They are planning a trip to California. 

Thurs 8. Clara returned to Wichita. She came with Carrie, who was quite sick while in Wichita. 

July 10. Irving and his men very  busy all the week threshing green peas. Charles has helped them a good deal. 

July 17 began to write in new Journal. Nearly filled the other with our trip. 

July 18 Arthur is working in Niagara Falls now. 

Sat 24. We, with Arthur's folks and the Hotchkiss's, Bertha's father and mother, had a picnic at Lechworth Park and Arthur took photographs of his grandson, little Jeremy and his ancestors, with special attention to him and his four great grandparents

Mon 26. Edith and Eileen returned from a visit to Evelyn's, They went July 9

Tues 27  Vacation Bible School. Eileen teaches, all three children at Southside are attending.

Robert's - Robert Vincent Call (1892-1961) son of Charles Joslin Call (1859-1939) and Elizabeth Ann Coe (1862-1956) and his wife Lucille Alice Hale (1893-1996) and their six children Marie, Elizabeth, Evelyn, Robert, Richard and David lived in Batavia, Genesee County at My-T Acres farm.

Arthur's - Charles Arthur Call (1885-1962) son of Charles Joslin Call and Elizabeth Ann Coe and his wife Bertha May Hotchkiss (1882-1946) and some of their four children Helen, Marian, Robert and Edith lived in Batavia. 

Jeremey Robert Johnson - Jeremy Robert Johnson son of Robert Wilson Johnson (1910-1991) and Helen Elizabeth Call (1910-1997), grandson of Charles Arthur Call and Bertha May Hotchkiss, and first great grandchild of Charles Joslin Call and Elizabeth Ann Coe was born in October 1936. 

Mabelle and Albert Goff - Mabelle Call (1887-1956) daughter of Albert Henry Call (1857-1934) and Effie May White (1862-1935) and her husband Albert Lewis Goff (1885-1971) lived in Elba, Genesee County. 

Irving - Irving Joslyn Call (1900-1995) son of Charles Joslin Call and Elizabeth Ann Coe and his wife Thelma Louise Keitel (1905-1996) and their three children Herbert, Louisa and Irving lived in Stafford, Genesee County. 

Charles - Charles Joslin Call (1859-1939) son of Robert Call (1831-1913) and Charlotte Joslin (1834-1908). Charles and his wife Elizabeth Ann Coe lived in Stafford. 

Hotchkiss's  - Horatio Nelson Hotchkiss (1855-1938) and Carrie Adell VanName (1861-1944) parents of Bertha May Hotchkiss, wife of Charles Arthur Call. They lived in Silver Springs, Wyoming County, New York. 

Edith - Edith Alberta Call (1889-1989) daughter of Charles Joslin Call and Elizabeth Ann Coe. Edith, the widow of Malvern Smith Jones (1884-1937) lived with her parents in Stafford. 

Eileen - Eileen Evelyn Jones (1919-2015) daughter of Edith Alberta Call and Malvern Smith Jones lived with her mother and grandmother in Stafford.

Evelyn - Evelyn Clara Call (1895-1962) daughter of Charles Joslin Call and Elizabeth Ann Coe lived with her husband Francis William Hankins (1897-1983) and their three children Ralph, Elizabeth and Philip in Collegeville, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania.
