Albert Coe and Deborah Prentice family photo - c 1888

Sometime in the winter of 1887 or spring/early summer of 1888 - a family photograph was taken of Albert Coe and Deborah Prentice of Le Roy, Genesee County, New York and their children, spouses and grandchildren.

I've always thought of this photo as having been taken shortly before my great grand-parents Charles Joslin Call and Elizabeth Ann Coe moved to Wichita, Sedgewick County, Kansas. While I don't know exactly when they left for Kansas, the last record I've found for them in New York is a mention on June 30, 1888 that they were dismissed by letter from the United Church of Christ in Morganville, Genesee County. Letters of dismissal were issued when a church member was leaving a church and moving elsewhere. They also served as an introduction to a new church, as they verified that the people had been members in good standing of another congregation.

At the time the photograph was taken, Ezra Frank Coe and his wife Sarah Frances Ward were already living in Kansas. I haven't been able to determine exactly when they came back to Genesee County for a visit during that time period.

Pictured in the photograph are

Albert Coe (1827-1907) and his wife Deborah Prentice (1833-1910). They lived in Le Roy

Their children and spouses
