Jack came, and gave us very complete information about how to go to the Fair, and what is most noteworthy. He took us to a nice caffeteria and then to the Fair Grounds. We were with them in the evening, Marian and Jack.
Wed 16. We visited the Fair. Mrs Strickland had invited us all to dinner. They have a very pleasant home. Jack showed me his garden. Then "took us to his dark-room where he has everything - it seemed - that a photographer could want, - and all in perfect order. Then we went to see his mineral collection; some one said worth $2000.00 He has a good many semi-precious stones, amethys opal, tourmaline, amber, gold, silver and copper ores. Last he showed us his photographs, - he has taken very lovely landscapes and some fine pictures of his dog. They are a very pleasant family, and we all like Jack. He has been especially kind and thoughtful.
Thurs 17. We returned home by way of New York City 364 miles to Collegeville via Harrisburg. Travelled 1138 miles.
